1) Agreement to Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of The Baby Specialist’s services and website. By using, visiting, or browsing The Baby Specialist’s website, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you should not use The Baby Specialist’s services or website. These Terms of Use are an ongoing contract between you and The Baby Specialist and apply to your use of The Baby Specialist’s service and website.

2) Amendments to Terms and Conditions

The Baby Specialist reserves the right to make changes to the Terms and Conditions from time to time, at its own discretion, without prior notice.

3) Reserving your Baby Equipment Rentals

You can email to us your request, or reach us by phone during our operating hours.

We are open:

Monday – Friday: 9am to 12.30pm
Saturday: 9am to 12pm
Yes you will need to book items in advance in order for us to deliver on time.

Orders scheduled for delivery between Monday to Saturday must be confirmed at least 24 hrs before delivery.

Orders scheduled for delivery on Sunday must be confirmed at least 48 hrs before delivery.

Please note that advance booking happens on a first-come first-served basis.

Orders from outside of Singapore:

1. We will confirm your order via email.
2. You may pay your reservation fee / rental fee via credit card. The reservation fee is S$30.
3. We need your credit card details as it also serves as a Security Deposit for the items you are about to rent.
4. For security purposes, we will collect your credit card details (16-digit card number, expiry date, cvv number) over the phone. Please see our 6) Data Protection Policy for more information on how we keep your private data secure.
5. Shortly after our phone conversation, you will receive your Invoice and Rental Agreement via email.
6. Please read and sign the Rental Agreement and send the signed copy back to us via email.
7. Upon receiving the signed Rental Agreement, your reservation is confirmed.

Orders from within Singapore:

1. We will confirm your order via phone or email.
2. You may pay your reservation fee / rental fee via credit card. The reservation fee is S$30.
3. We need your credit card details as it also serves as a Security Deposit for the items you are about to rent.
4. For security purposes, we will collect your credit card details (16-digit card number, expiry date, cvv number) over the phone. Please see our 6) Data Protection Policy for more information on how we keep your private data secure.
5. Upon delivery / self-collection of rental equipment, you may read and sign our Rental Agreement, and pay for the rental fee by cheque, cash or credit card.

Changes to your reservation can be done up to 72 hours prior to delivery. Please refer to 8) Rental Cancellations for our cancellation policy.

We will send you a final confirmation prior to delivery.

4) Easy Pickup and Delivery of Rentals

Local pick up is available at pre-arranged times; please call or email us for more details.

Our standard opening hours are:

Monday – Friday: 9am to 12.30pm
Saturday: 9am to 12pm

Unless specified otherwise, our delivery charges are:

Monday – Friday (10am to 4.30pm) : S$40
Monday – Friday (4.30pm to 8.30pm) : S$55
Saturdays & Sundays (10am to 5pm) : S$70
Delivery and set up of the baby equipment rentals can be arranged to your hotel room, vacation rental or private residence.

You can also collect and return items yourself if you so wish. For further information on where to collect your rental equipment, please visit our Contact Us page.

Upon receiving your order, we will typically contact you within three working days to confirm the delivery date and time.

5) Security Deposit Requirements

We require your credit card information (16-digit card number, expiry date and cvv number) to be given as a form of security deposit. Your credit card will not be charged if or when we have confirmed that the item returned is in good condition,on time, and when there is no outstanding rental fee unpaid.

6) Data Protection

For security reasons, we only collect your details over phone, instead of email. Your credit card information is kept locked up, and access to it is limited only to the employees who have legitimate need to access the information. Creditcard numbers shown in official documents like the rental agreement will be partially blocked so that no other personnel in the supply chain will have access to this information.  This data will be destroyed 7 days after the end of the rental period.
The Baby Specialist reserves the right during the 7-day inspection period to inspect rental equipment after it has been collected back from the hirer. The data will be destroyed 7 days after the end of the rental period when the equipment is found to be returned in good condition and when there is no outstanding rental fee unpaid.

7) Damage and Loss of Equipment

Replacement costs will be charged if rental units come back damaged beyond normal wear and tear or if the items rented are not returned to us at all. Your credit card may be charged additional fees after your rental, should this be the case. You will be notified of this charge and an invoice will be issued for repairs or replacement.
The Baby Specialist’s goal in implementing this policy is not for gain. The charge is solely for the cost of repairing the damage and restoring the equipment to a clean condition fit for future rental. Only when a piece of equipment is absolutely broken beyond repair, or soiled beyond our cleaning capabilities, the retail price of the replacement equipment is charged. Normal wear and tear and small scratches are not chargeable.

Please note that Baby Specialist reserves the right during the 7-day inspection period to inspect rental equipment after it has been collected back from the hirer. During the 7-day inspection period, should the equipment be found damaged, we are entitled to follow up with the hirer after this 7-day inspection period for the cost of damages.

The condition of the equipment will be checked and a checklist will be signed by the customer and our delivery person upon receipt of the equipment by the customer. If it is damaged upon return, the customer will be charged for the damage.

For self-collecting customers, every piece of equipment will be checked in your presence before it’s rented, if it is damaged upon return, the customer will be charged for the damage.

8) Rental Cancellations

Cancellations may be made without penalty with up to 72 hours advance notice.

If the cancellation is made more than 72 hours from the start of the rental period, there is no cancellation fee levied.

If the cancellation is made less than 72 hrs from commencement date, there will be a flat cancellation fee of SGD 30 charged.

9) Rental Returns

All rented equipment are given a due date easily viewed on the invoice. Other details about the length of rental and the overdue amount are also included in the rental agreement. Note that the overdue charge is levied on a daily basis and starts the date after the due date noted on the invoice. This overdue charge is set by The Baby Specialist’s management. If in doubt, contact The Baby Specialist management and provide your invoice number or rental name and we will give you the amount.

10) Rental Extensions

All rental extensions should be done at least 24 hrs before the expiration of rental period. Extensions will be done via email or in person, if by email, you are required to quote your invoice number. In the event that you have lost or forgotten your invoice number, you are required to provide the correct name and address used on the previous rental. Extension charges will be charged to your credit card at the beginning of the extension period.

11) Minimum Charges

There is a S$45 minimum charge on all orders, excluding delivery fees.

12) Methods of Payment

Cash and Cheque are preferred methods of payment.
Your credit card information (16-digit card number, expiry date and cvv number) is to be included in the rental agreement as a form of deposit and is required to secure your reservation at the time of booking. Extension charges, if any, will also be charged to your credit card.
By using The Baby Specialist’s service, you hereby agree that we are permitted to charge you for the rental, rental extensions and rental reservations. Additional charges you may incur will be in connection with damaged equipment, equipment that has been returned very dirty, equipment returned after the due date, equipment not returned at all, purchase of new or used equipment and any service level changes you request.

13) Disclaimers of Warranties and Limitations on Liability

THE BABY SPECIALIST SERVICE, INCLUDING ALL FEATURES ASSOCIATED THEREWITH, THE WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND AND WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO THE BABY SPECIALIST’S SERVICE, THE WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENTS. We assume no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the content of The Baby Specialist’s website, any failures, delays, or interruptions in the availability of equipment, delivery of any content contained on the Baby Specialist’s website, any losses or damages arising from the use of the content provided on The Baby Specialist’s website, or The Baby Specialist’s service. TO THE EXTENT ALLOWABLE BY LAW, WE AND OUR LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, FOR EXAMPLE, WARRANTIES OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. In addition, we do not represent or warrant that the information accessible via our site is accurate, complete or current. We do not represent or guarantee that your use of the service will be free from loss, corruption, attack, viruses, interference, hacking, or other security intrusion and we disclaim any liability with respect thereto. No oral or written information or advice given by us or our authorized representative shall create a warranty or otherwise constitute a representation binding upon The Baby Specialist or its affiliated parties. In no event shall The Baby Specialist, its directors, officers, or employees be liable (jointly or severally) to you for personal injury or any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, profits, business interruption or any other commercial damages or loss, whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of The Baby Specialist website, its contents or our service, including any features associated therewith.

14) Standard Hold Harmless Agreement

FOR GOOD AND VALUABLE CONSIDERATION, the customers of The Baby Specialist jointly and severally agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Baby Specialist and all employees therein from any claim, action, liability, loss, damage or suit, arising from the following: Any injury incurred by broken or whole equipment received from The Baby Specialist and any corruption on any electronics used to access The Baby Specialist’s website.

15) Use of Information Submitted

The Baby Specialist, is free to use any comments, information, ideas, concepts, reviews, or techniques or any other material contained in any communication you may send to The Baby Specialist, including, without limitation, responses to questionnaires or through postings to The Baby Specialist’s website without further compensation, acknowledgement or payment to you for any purpose whatsoever including, but not limited to, developing, manufacturing and marketing products and creating, modifying or improving The Baby Specialist’s website or other websites. Furthermore, by posting any Content on our site, submitting Content to us, or in responding to questionnaires, you grant us a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free irrevocable license and right to display, use, reproduce or modify the Content submitted in any media, software or technology of any kind now existing or developed in the future. Please note The Baby Specialist does not accept unsolicited materials or ideas for use or publication, and is not responsible for the similarity of any of its content or programming in any media to materials or ideas transmitted to The Baby Specialist. Should you send any unsolicited materials or ideas, you do so with the understanding no additional consideration of any sort will be provided to you, and you are waiving any claim against The Baby Specialist and its affiliates regarding the use of such materials and ideas, even if material or an idea is used that is substantially similar to the idea you sent. In light of operational constraints, The Baby Specialist is unable to return any personal Equipment, CDs, DVDs or other items submitted to The Baby Specialist. We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage you to be careful in returning items to us. By becoming The Baby Specialist’s customer, the customer grants The Baby Specialist sole ownership of any correspondence between the parties for The Baby Specialist’s use at its sole discretion.

16) Your Conduct on The Baby Specialist’s Website

By accessing The Baby Specialist’s website, you agree to use The Baby Specialist’s service, including all features associated therewith, the Website and its content in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. In addition, you agree not to upload, post, e-mail or otherwise send or transmit any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment associated with The Baby Specialist’s website. You also agree not to interfere with the servers or networks connected to The Baby Specialist’s website or to violate any of the procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to The Baby Specialist’s website. You also agree not to impersonate any other person while using The Baby Specialist’s website, conduct yourself in a vulgar or offensive manner while using our service, or use The Baby Specialist’s website for any unlawful purpose.

17) Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your use of our service, without notice, for any or no reason whatsoever. Limitations on Use unless otherwise specified, the content on The Baby Specialist’s website is for your personal and non-commercial use. You may not download, modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, duplicate, publish, license, create derivative works from, or offer for sale any information contained on, or obtained from, The Baby Specialist’s website without our express written consent. The Baby Specialist does not promote, foster or condone the copying of DVDs, digitally delivered content, or any other infringing activity.

18) Buying Equipment

The Baby Specialist sells certain (New & Used) equipment that are part of the rental program. Rental customers receive 20% discounts on any used equipment purchases that are available for sale. To purchase, send us an email or visit our office. Please note that no equipment will be sold without the full amount being paid in advance. If you require delivery of the item, additional delivery charges will be added.

19) Links to Other Sites

The Baby Specialist’s website has some hyperlinks and banners to other websites that are not controlled by, or affiliated with, The Baby Specialist Pte Ltd. In addition, other websites may link to The Baby Specialist’s website. The Baby Specialist has not reviewed these websites and is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of these Websites. The Baby Specialist’s website contains links to sites operated by third parties whose policies regarding the handling of personal information may differ from ours. While we endeavour to associate with reputable sites, The Baby Specialist cannot be responsible for the information handling practices of these other sites.

20) Amendments to This Policy

As we update and expand our services, we will from time to time make changes to this policy without prior notice. You should therefore check the policy regularly for any updates that will have been made. Like our Terms and Conditions, of which this policy is a part, your use of The Baby Specialist’s website or continued use of our service means that you agree to be bound by such changes.
